Day 10: He is Worthy
Word:
Revelation 5.9 And they sang a new song, saying: “You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because You were slain, and with Your blood you purchased for God persons from every tribe and language and people and nation.
Daily Devotional
In the book of Revelation, the Apostle John has a visionary experience of Heaven. As he surveys the scene, he realizes that he has entered an incredible worship service, as all of Heaven sings about the worthiness of the Lord.
When we start our day worshiping the Lord, we join this heavenly chorus, proclaiming that the Lord is worthy of all praise, honor, glory, and power, both now and forever!
Scriptures For Today:
As you read today's Scriptures, read slowly and attentively, allowing the Holy Spirit to speak to you as you meditate on His Word.
Revelation 5.9-14 And they sang a new song, saying: “You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because You were slain, and with Your blood you purchased for God persons from every tribe and language and people and nation. You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God, and they will reign on the earth.” Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels, numbering thousands upon thousands, and ten thousand times ten thousand. They encircled the throne and the living creatures and the elders. In a loud voice they were saying: “Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!” Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, saying: “To Him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power, for ever and ever!” The four living creatures said, “Amen,” and the elders fell down and worshiped.
Worship:
Prayer:
Lord, You are worthy to receive all the power, wealth, wisdom, strength, honor, glory and praise today!
Our teams serving in Latin America (You can learn more about this area of the world here) have requested that we pray:
O God, pour out Your Holy Spirit over Latin America (Isa. 44:3). You are calling, “Come to Me!” Have mercy on us and help us to turn our hearts to You, repenting from serving idols and evil lords. We pray that the teams on the ground and the local Church will be supernaturally equipped and ready for harvest. May we love like Jesus and seek unity in the Body, that we may not hinder the work of the Spirit.
Listen & Obey:
Spend two minutes in silent, listening prayer. Write down what you sense the Holy Spirit speaking to you. Here are some prompts to assist you:
Lord, what do You want to speak to me from these passages of Scripture as I start my day?
How do You want me to apply this truth today?
Who do I need to share this with today?
