Day 20: Cleansing & Healing
Word:
Proverbs 4.20-22 "My son, be attentive to my words; incline your ear to my sayings. Let them not escape from your sight; keep them within your heart. For they are life to those who find them, and healing to all their flesh."
Daily Devotional
God’s Word is healing. It washes us clean (Ephesians 5.26, John 15.3), cuts away disease (Hebrews 4.12-14) and brings healing to our lives (Psalm 107:19-20). Every day as we read God’s Word we bring our lives under the care of the Great Physician and we let His healing Word work in and through us.
Scriptures For Today:
As you read today's Scriptures, read slowly and attentively, allowing the Holy Spirit to speak to you as you meditate on His Word.
Ephesians 5.25-27… just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless.
Hebrews 4.12-13 For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.
Psalm 107.19-20 Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress. He sent out his word and healed them; he rescued them from the grave.
Proverbs 4.20-22 "My son, be attentive to my words; incline your ear to my sayings. Let them not escape from your sight; keep them within your heart. For they are life to those who find them, and healing to all their flesh."
Worship:
Prayer:
Last week we prayed a personal devotional prayer and a prayer for our church planting teams serving in the nations. This week, we continue with a personal devotional prayer and we are going to be praying for our churches serving in our nation.
Lord, Your Word cleanses me, convicts me and heals me. I humble myself before You and receive Your Words with the promise that they will bring life and healing to me in fresh ways today!
Today we are praying Romans 15.5-6,13 for our Los Angeles churches: “Lord, You are the God of endurance and encouragement. Would You strengthen our churches in Los Angeles with encouragement to run their race with endurance. Would You grant them to live in such harmony with one another and with Jesus that together they might glorify You with one voice. Please fill them with joy and peace in believing so that by the power of the Holy Spirit that would abound in hope!”
Listen & Obey:
Spend two minutes in silent, listening prayer. Write down what you sense the Holy Spirit speaking to you. Here are some prompts to assist you:
Lord, what do You want to speak to me from these passages of Scripture as I start my day?
How do You want me to apply this truth today?
Who do I need to share this with today?
