Day 16: So Is My Word That Goes Out From My Mouth
Word:
Isaiah 55.8-9 “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.”
Daily Devotional
God’s thoughts are higher than our thoughts, and His ways are higher than our ways. When we read His Word, our minds are filled with His thoughts, and our ways are shaped by His ways!
Scriptures For Today:
As you read today's Scriptures, read slowly and attentively, allowing the Holy Spirit to speak to you as you meditate on His Word.
Isaiah 55.8-13 “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it. You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands. Instead of the thornbush will grow the juniper, and instead of briers the myrtle will grow. This will be for the Lord’s renown, for an everlasting sign, that will endure forever.”

Prayer:
Last week we prayed a personal devotional prayer and a prayer for our church planting teams serving in the nations. This week, we continue with a personal devotional prayer and we are going to be praying for our churches serving in our nation.
Lord, Your Word is powerful and effective. It accomplishes the purpose for which You sent it! Thank you for the Scriptures. As I read them, help my mind to be filled with Your thoughts and Your ways today!
For our College Station church, pray Colossians 1.9-13, “Lord, would You fill Antioch College Station with the knowledge of Your will, through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives. May they walk in a manner worthy of You and be pleasing to You in every way. May they bear fruit in every good work and grow in knowing You! Father, strengthen them today with Your power so that they might run their race with great endurance, patience and gratitude as they receive the inheritance that You have for them!”
Listen & Obey:
Spend two minutes in silent, listening prayer. Write down what you sense the Holy Spirit speaking to you. Here are some prompts to assist you:
Lord, what do You want to speak to me from these passages of Scripture as I start my day?
How do You want me to apply this truth today?
Who do I need to share this with today?
