Day 14: Presence
Word:
Isaiah 6.1 In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord, high and exalted, seated on a throne; and the train of his robe filled the temple.
Daily Devotional
In Mere Christianity, author CS Lewis wrote, what the prophet Isaiah experienced long ago: “It is in the process of being worshipped that God communicates His presence to men.”
As we worship the Lord, we experience His Presence in a unique and profound way.
Scriptures For Today:
As you read today's Scriptures, read slowly and attentively, allowing the Holy Spirit to speak to you as you meditate on His Word.
Isaiah 6.1-4 In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord, high and exalted, seated on a throne; and the train of his robe filled the temple. Above him were seraphim, each with six wings: With two wings they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and with two they were flying. And they were calling to one another: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory.”At the sound of their voices the doorposts and thresholds shook and the temple was filled with smoke.
2 Chronicles 5.13-14 The trumpeters and musicians joined in unison to give praise and thanks to the Lord. Accompanied by trumpets, cymbals and other instruments, the singers raised their voices in praise to the Lord and sang:
“He is good; his love endures forever.”
Then the temple of the Lord was filled with the cloud, and the priests could not perform their service because of the cloud, for the glory of the Lord filled the temple of God.
Worship:
Prayer:
Lord, You are holy and good. Your love endures forever. As I worship You this morning and throughout this day, fill me with Your Presence!
Our teams serving in the East Asia and Russia (You can learn more about this area of the world here) have requested that we pray:
Father, thank You for laying a foundation of intercession and missions in East Asia and Russia. We pray for that mantle to be passed to the younger generations in these nations, that they may carry it even farther. Send out Your people, let the unreached in East Asia hear the Good News, and bring about a great harvest across the region.
Listen & Obey:
Spend two minutes in silent, listening prayer. Write down what you sense the Holy Spirit speaking to you. Here are some prompts to assist you:
Lord, what do You want to speak to me from these passages of Scripture as I start my day?
How do You want me to apply this truth today?
Who do I need to share this with today?
