Day 26: Your Will Be Done
Word:
Matthew 6.10b “Your will be done…”
Daily Devotional
As Jesus continues to teach us to pray, He leads us into praying for God’s will to be done in our lives and in our world. Jesus not only tells us to pray this, He models this type of prayer life for us. When He was in the Garden of Gethsemane, He prayed, “My Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as you will.” As we say these words, we follow in the footsteps of our Savior.
Scriptures For Today:
As you read today's Scriptures, read slowly and attentively, allowing the Holy Spirit to speak to you as you meditate on His Word.
Matthew 6.9 “This, then, is how you should pray: ‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, Your will be done…’”
1 Samuel 15.22 "Does the Lord delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in obeying the Lord? To obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed is better than the fat of rams."
Matthew 16.24-25 Then Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.”
Matthew 26.39 And going a little farther he fell on his face and prayed, saying, “My Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as you will.”

Prayer:
Here are two prayers for today. One is devotional and one is for those in our city that do not know Jesus. Praying for the lost is one of the ways we prepare for harvest.
Lord, I surrender again to You today! Not my will but Yours be done. Please give me a willing heart and a delight today in doing Your will!
Today we are praying Matthew 9.37-38 over those that don’t know Jesus in our city. Feel free to insert specific names of people in the prayer.
Lord, You have said that the harvest is ripe, but the laborers are few. I ask You today to awaken believers in our city, me included, to our calling and send us forth into Your harvest in our city. I pray that you would give (insert name here) friends, coworkers and neighbors that know and love You and would love (insert name here) with Your love and good news!
Listen & Obey:
Spend two minutes in silent, listening prayer. Write down what you sense the Holy Spirit speaking to you. Here are some prompts to assist you:
Lord, what do You want to speak to me from these passages of Scripture as I start my day?
How do You want me to apply this truth today?
Who do I need to share this with today?
